i was just playing hide and seek in a hedge maze the other day with a kid i work with...this though made me think of the mazes we create in our own minds...
Read all pending poems. You really convey your feelings in depth even in 55ers. After reading the end lines of each, I have a feeling there is something more to it than you show. Hope all is well, if not please do share.
Reach out your hand until you touch the wall. Walk forwards. Never lose contact with the wall, no matter how convoluted your path. You WILL come out at the other end. Try it, you will be amazed.
Aahh.. am there myself, Gautami.. And I lost the map I made too.. grr! I think I'll shoot up a flare, like an SOS, hoping someone sees it.. and then I'll call out for you too!! Till then, I'll try and enjoy this maze.. :)
I will let the maze continue to amaze me..I won't escape..nor will I move forward..I will stay exactly there.. What a poem.. a delightful read..
ReplyDeleteGautami...
ReplyDeleteUnlike most Men...I CAN read a map!
Your 55 was very nicely written, I LOVED it.
Thanks for playing, and have a Kick Ass Week-End

ReplyDeletemazes are tricky aren't they - they mess with the mind.
ReplyDeletevery nice 55
Very interesting !
ReplyDeleteI liked this :)
We do like challenges! thanks-
ReplyDeleteThis often the way, stuck somewhere of our own making.
ReplyDeleteI think we all have been there, done that, as they say...Sometimes walking backwards actually gets you out, others, you do need a map.
ReplyDeleteGautami,

Take care
Patience, discipline and determination usually work. Great words.
ReplyDeleteClimb up on top. You'll be able to see over the maze, perhaps even walk on top of it and you'll be out before you know it.
ReplyDeleteHey, you *knew* I'd be advocating for climbing! Always go for the high ground.
I've been there... I love the ending!
ReplyDeleteIt's awful to feel lost. Map-wise or innerself-wise.
ReplyDeleteA great piece.
the maze of your own making,
ReplyDeletewhat a fun take.
love the word play,
beautiful 55.
Do I know that feeling.
ReplyDeleteWhat, you don't have a GPS? (LOL!)
ReplyDeleteNice 55, Gautami!
Happens to the best of us, Gautami.
ReplyDeleteWell done.
Pamela
Give yourself the time and space to find your way. Maybe you need to step back to move forward.
ReplyDeletebeing lost can only be appreciated after we have found our way out... beautiful words...
ReplyDeleteA familiar predicament, indeed.
ReplyDeleteEscape Route? Yep!
ReplyDeleteBalance. Integrity. Joy.
And be nice to you -- you're the best think you've got!!
xo
First you need a minotaur, then you need a clue of thread. Of course, Theseus as a guide wouldn’t hurt either.

ReplyDeleteI like the recognition of "a maze of my own making."
ReplyDeleteA place you don't recognize, but of your own making. Interesting and well done. Vb
ReplyDeleteStrange how we do that - and eventually work our way out - nice post!
ReplyDeleteI know that feeling!

ReplyDeleteSometimes decisions can lead to maze of our doing, well, at times I'd feel a bit that way. ☺ Hope you found the way out!
ReplyDeleteSubtle poem, and a-maze-ing. I do hope you're out of the labyrinth now.
ReplyDeleteTry taking only two steps back and always turn left at Albequerqe.
ReplyDeleteHope you find your way! Nice 55.
ReplyDeleteWonderful metaphor of what life seems like at times. Well done. I hope we all find our way.
ReplyDeleteIn a few brief lines you've accurately recounted a circumstance familiar to all. Nice write.
ReplyDeleteLife is a maze and, yes, sometimes we do create it. But it's fun to work our way through it. Enjoyed this one, Gautami.
