arched architecture

closing her eyes, she visualised it-
dimensions were a bit harder to imagine,
picking up her 2H pencil, she traced lines
delicately keeping her T angled.

something was wrong, she couldn't figure it out-
discarding the drawing sheet yet again.
so much time wasted, nothing to show for it-
fist clenched, she seeked composure.

no one understood her desperation-
this was either make or break for her,
this very thought drove away cobwebs-
her pencil moved afresh with renewed vigour.

when her designs were executed-
it was beyond anything anyone had seen,
in a space of few days, along wih fame-
unthinkable amount of money started pouring in.

"persistent paid or was it sheer luck?"

  4. Gotta say what the others said. That 'T angled' was perfect :-)

I once heard someone say that 'luck' was years of determination meeting a moment of opportunity.

  5. Was actually going to say what PJD did

At least I hope so. Woody Allen has a great quote persistence about success being but he was successful in his chosen fields so young

    As usual wonderfully done.

  11. The T angle rocks. Persistence pays off, but so does luck, I think.

  20. I enjoyed the essence of this. I'm a struggling actor in L.A., and I'd like to think that one day the success I'm working toward and that I know I deserve will come my way. You hear a lot from people talking about how hard it all is, or how impossible creative sucess is, so it's really nice and refreshing to read about somebody making it. Thank you.

  22. Persistence is definitely part of it :)

so much time wasted, nothing to show for it-

That reminded me of so many frustrating nights when I try to write.

  24. I think every "artist" struggles with this. Sometimes, what we produce is crap. Sometimes, it's beauty. Skill and luck have a lot to do with both of those outcomes.

this very thought drove away cobwebs-
her pencil moved afresh with renewed vigour.

Loved that. Nicely done this week Gautami. Sorry it took me so long to get aroudn to it: I was gone all week and just posted tonight.
