Snooze time, baby!----Sunday Scribblings

Please switch off the light and close the door when you leave. Let me catch up with my sleep. I will get a scribbling done when I get up refreshed in the morning after brushing my teeth.

I think most of you would agree with me and please, no loud music!

Don't you wish, we could all say this at one time or the other?

We can never have enough of it. I have been known to sleep for hours and hours during weekends. That was mostly when I was studying.

I can never sleep for more than 5 hours at night. Rest I catch up with, taking a siesta or in the weekends. I inherited that trait from my dad. He was the classic night owl. However, he never slept during the day or in the weekends. He just did not need much sleep. He used to spend his waking hours reading or writing. I think I am emulating him. Or well in the way of following him. In next few years..:D

Nonetheless, I do have problems sleeping in a new place. It takes me a while.

Anyway, no more talks. Now you go, let me sleep in peace. One more thing, you got any good lullabies?

  3. I love to sleep. I can sleep for days. Is that depression or just laziness?

  4. I, too, get about 5-6 hours of sleep a night. I have to work when it's quiet in the house. Wish I could sleep more.

In fact, I'll probably post my Sunday Scribbling after everyone is asleep!

  5. Lullabies...what a wonderful word. And sleep...ummm...and the dreams growing within it...and the mystery of life...so natural, so ordinary...so poetic.

  7. They say people need less sleep as they get older. I hope so! Feeling tired is a horrible feeling. I too have problems sleeping in new places - I have found earplugs to be a wonderful investment!

  8. I sympathise with your lack of sleep, I get 6.5 hours on a good night. I have never been a good sleeper and scratch my head when people talk about enjoying their sleep - i wish I was one of them.

  11. Five hours sometimes actually feels like a luxury, doesn't it? I am also a night owl... like my mom.

  12. Here's one I used to sing to my babies when they were too fretful to sleep.

    "A dormir, a dormir,
    A dormir, chiquita.
    Ojos cerrados--a dormir, a dormir
    Juegos dejados--a dormir, chiquita."

    Ok. Are you sleeping?

  14. "I have been known to sleep for hours and hours during weekends. That was mostly when I was studying."

This is only my opinion, but I really think you should be awake when studying. This does not seem like the kind of tip I should have to give to a school teacher.

Have you hurt yourself again? What is it this time - the pencils? Erasers? Ah! I know... soporific chalk dust. What do they put in your chalk over there?

  18. Learning more about you! Sleep is my favorite thing and I'm always impressed that I wake up at about the same time everyday. Nice reference to your father too.
    Have a great week!

  19. Oh yes I can relate. I stayed up much too late last and would now give my right arm for a nap!

  20. Sleep is sometimes difficult for me. Many times I wake up every couple hours.

  21. It's not really like sleep seeps onto me as though just waiting for that as soon as i get on my bed...i think overtime! No lights, no sound. At all. And new places, yeah, my sleep gets intimated. Needs some time for breakin the ice. Right sized & right paced; a simple, soothing read.

  25. Amen to that! I used to be a person that could survive on less sleep, but kids have a way of damaging that. I comfort myself with the knowledge that they aren't little forever!

Thanks for stopping by my blog!

  26. To sleep, perchance to dream...there are times yes, when sleep is what I crave...as long as the dreams are peaceful...I'm not so crazy about it when the dreams are "involved", "complicated" and "distressing".

But I DO so love a good siesta!!

  27. I used to be a night owl, staying up until the wee hours, sleeping past noon. But the older I get, the earlier I go to bed and wake up in the morning. Funny how that happens... and naps are good, too. lol

Thanks for stopping by. Really appreciate your visit!
