Straight Curves---Poetry Thursday

This week's prompt was the very mathematical prove it. Here is my humble offering. I have written a few mathematical poetry before this. Here is another one!

........................................................

Straight Curves

straight lines over curves
never get on my nerves!

going off in a tangent
Isn’t that so very pleasant?

functions in parabola
as interesting as hyperbola!

wild algebra always dances
with geometrical nuances!

proving e is equal to m c square
is cakewalk for me, oh, dear!

verifying my love for you-
how do I make a breakthrough?

  2. Love is a wild leap of faith off the power grid of the heart. Sometimes, you just have to trust in the equations.

  3. I have to agree with the two ladies above me, I love the last stanza and sometimes you do just have to trust in life. You did a good job with the "optional assignment" this week.

  17. Now there are some rhymes I never would have thought of! If I could have thought of algebra dancing back in high school, it would have made math class much more enjoyable.

  18. A square root from a human life
    equals earth warming
    to the power of two?

Ps. Does this tough with River Yamuna?

  20. The deeper the love,
    The stronger the emotion,
    The stronger the love,
    The deeper the devotion.

    Enjoyed the imaginative rhyming
and seeing words familiar to me.

  22. Gautami,
Thanks for stopping over and commenting.
This poem reminds me of my dad, he was constantly putting life in rhyme.
I agree, proving love is more difficult than proving math theorems. Good work!

  30. Thanks for the visit and for sharing your version of proof.
Proving love does indeed appear to be mathematically impossible.
But is is linguistically provable either? Probably not.

  31. thank you so much for visiting me... that was very sweet of you and your poetry is absolutely wonderful... you've managed to use so many mathematical terms in such a pleasing way... better than school any day.
