intermission-------Writers Island

sweet smell of hibiscus tickles the nose
dark green leaves softly sway in the air
moist earth cools the feet
I watch the gentle night slowly unfolding
taking the light away from the surroundings
I absorb it, my irises growing wide
wondering at the sheer beauty of it all
when sudden rains pelt on my head, jolting me
I find their intrusion downright outrageous

  1. Man, I got pelted by rain like this just this afternoon. I totally know how outrageous its intrusion can be.
