order of the day

there are days,
I remember tossing out
of that side broken window.
I can't recall the contents of those days.
I have gone out numerous times
to pick up those days,
however, someone else has taken them-
maybe reused after dusting.

"now that window is mended
I want the days back in their proper place"

  6. Don't we all want some of them back? And we do get them in some nature by writing poems, like this one that others can reuse in thought and response. Always a fan, Gautami,

  14. May the days be returned to you in far better condition than the first time around.

Perhaps they will return to read your words... they would be wise to do so!

  15. Unfortuantely, sometimes we can't get back things we've tossed out.

  18. Reused after dusting gives me this mental image of a maid in the middle of the room waving a feather duster around at thin air.

  19. Most of my days are a tossed blur too, dusted ane perhaps reused by smiling ones I never actually met.

    So many mysteries.

So many days to come, ones of wonder and light.

  22. Loved this, Gautami. I've also tossed lots of days through my own carelessness or sense of immortality, as though days would always be in plentiful supply. Hope someone else DID use them, because I sure squandered them!

    A giggle for you:

  29. Great take on the prompt of the broken window. It's as if the days were broken too, tossed away. The regret in this poem is haunting.
