reverently renewed---One Single Impression
water melts with the warmth of the sun
flows down the stream.
snow is not to be seen for some months now.
green leaves soothe the eyes-
grasses carpet the earth.
lonely birds get together to chirp songs of happiness,
in no time three months of winters are forgotten.
spring is welcomed whole heartedly,
before summer burns us down again.
don't they know, it passes too fast
and we have too long to wait?
each part of nature is too busy renewing itself-
living only in the present.
"what about my dried out falling hair-
it only thins out with each successive year"

Reverently renewed - lovely phrase... this is a beautiful poem and a beautiful photo to go with it. "don't they know it passes too fast..." Nice. Happy Spring!
ReplyDeleteFunny, sad and true...living in the present, I've been hearing that again and again lately. Maybe somebody is trying to tell me something :)
ReplyDeleteThanks

ReplyDeleteI love these lines:
ReplyDeleteeach part of nature is too busy renewing itself-

ReplyDeletethis is beautiful, gautami.
ReplyDeletethe last 2 line, about the falling hair, you don't have to remind me. :)
how I wish it was like that here but we are blanketed in snow!
ReplyDeleteA lovely picture to go along with a lovely poem !
ReplyDeleteI could use some of that melting and renewing about now!
ReplyDeleteLovely ... with a fun punchline.
ReplyDeleteLove the title...a great picture of words.
ReplyDeleteLovely title but those that are renewed have to die first. Maybe our hair must too?
ReplyDeleteperfectly timed... green leaves soothe the eyes... i agree wholeheartedly... full of beautiful images of spring...

ReplyDelete"water melts with the warmth of the sun" - love that, gautami! Lovely poetry that evokes the all the seasons. Did you re-read Siddartha because I called you gautama last week? Ha!
ReplyDeleteso well said gautami... i have seen 47 springs,, and each and every one no matter how greatly anticipated,, turned summer well before its time.....
ReplyDeleteI have to learn from your poem: to live in the present like Nature. There is a reason it does so. This is so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteOne beautiful post, image and poem, excellent.
ReplyDeleteHow delightful this is. And a lovely knowing smile at the very end.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful spring words and the perfect photo to go with it.
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely (and delicate) image to accompany your Spring poem … complete with a chuckle at the end. Thanks for sharing, and for visiting my OSI this morning.
ReplyDeleteHugs and blessings,
those last two lines..had me smiling...you do all these very well.
ReplyDeletethe natural cycles and the passing of time so well captured!
ReplyDeletegreat ending!
Ah, it does pass much too quickly after such a long anticipation. Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteSpring always seems like a hiatus, an adjustment from ice before the burning of summer.
ReplyDeleteYour thoughts reflect the spring oment beautifully!
