retrieval

how does one retrieve you
from wherever you have gone
shall I serenade ballads
or sing sopranos
maybe you like opera

none of those are my talents
poetry is what is latent
I can't write similes
but seasonings of metaphors
can garnish it well

a few words from you
I can weave into my tapestry
thinking of it as embroidery-
(if you wish I can put numbers)
so help me retrieve you

  6. I like the way your mind works, you use the language in ways I'd never imagine, yet I feel like I get your ideas hand-delivered perfectly. Liked this very much, especially the...helpful wishing in the last line.

  9. Ahh Gautami, you are indeed a poetic lotus blossom. Once again you have written your heart into a poem, and what number would you weave into your tapestry? I enjoyed the content and flow of your poem, as always.

  15. If you find out how to retrieve someone, please tell me. This is lovely, has the appeal of something sewn or woven. Thanks, Gay @beachanny

  20. Ah Gautami, you are too modest. I think you could write anything that you put your mind too. Lovely thoughts and weaving of them all together.

  21. You can do so much with your words and you remind me how we who write are all making tapestries. A word here from you, a scene taken in there, a smell on a summer day..they all go into our weaving. Beautifully done.
