winds of change

yesterday harsh ribbons of sunlight
slashed across my skin
I endured the heated abuse
more due to lethargy of getting up

today my skin is mottled
from one end to the other
along with that my stomach cramps
hit a high and then lower

tomorrow, I promise myself
I will be as good as new
give up on my laziness
and let the night air cool me

hatred for my peeling skin
will disappear in no time
I will write it all down to the last letter
how I love having a title of drama queen!

  1. My wife is feeling much the same, even though her sunburn is now two weeks old. She is peeling again...

    Nice job.

  2. Nicely done, as always. Sounds painful.

  3. We love to soak up the rays without thought to the aftermath!

  4. You are allowed to be a drama queen having to endure a bout of sunburn. Hopefully by now the worst is over.

Pale I will stay, I won't risk being burnt again. Enjoyed the visit.

  5. I know just how painful it can be...
    Subtle merge of prompts.

  6. I got a good chuckle from the ending. We really do revel in our small miseries

  7. *grin*! Good one. I'm sorry you have a sunburn. I hope you feel better soon.

  8. Gautami,

Read all pending poems. Each one is so good. I liked the one on time the best.

  16. well said.
    life is a learning journey...
