guts wrench out in the open making a spectacle for all

I believe that at times one just needs to write about love, irrespective of everything. I don't know where it came from but it just did....

not knowing how to flaunt my passion
i flounder at showing it to you
if you only gave me a chance
the gates would open up wrenching us both
how do I tell you about this constant craving
this deep sated need for you
which eats at my guts and fills me with longing
words cannot convey my loneliness to you
yet I know you sense it
although you would rather not acknowledge it
how do I pour out my love for you
your very thought heightens my senses
I wish I could reach out to your very soul
and submerge myself within you
at oddest of times tears fill my eyes
unknown to me visible to all
my minds speaks to you
yet I know I can't reach you
walking away is easy for you
just let me know how do I do it
nonchalantly, just the way you did

yes, I will live but barely so
for a long time to come or never

  1. To know it but not receive can be an all-encompassing feeling. I think we've all been here at times.

  2. All I can say is that he's got to be regretting walking away from so much love! I think that says he wasn't good enough for you.

Before I met my husband, I had a boyfriend who walked away and it physically hurt. Hearts really do break!

Someone deserving WILL be along for you.

    This was beautifully written!

  4. What a powerful piece! "Gut wrenching" is an appropriate description. All I can say is, "his loss." You deserve some that will return your love.

  6. I am in this place too. Sometimes I wish I could feel anger or hatred, so the other feelings would more quickly subside. But I can't.

  7. I believe that your abundance of love will bring you happiness in the long run, perhaps not with the person to whom this is addressed, but, believe it or not, there will be someone else that you will love and whom you will love equally. In the meanwhile there will be hurt. Most of us have been there.

  8. oh boy, this is such a familiar feeling that I am so glad I am not going through anymore! I hope this is fiction and you are just an amazing writer. I hate to think of you suffering with heartache like you describe. (and describe sO well!)
the desperation one feels when hungry for the love in return is so captured here Gautami. great post.

  12. This poem is really one is the best I've read from you because of the true feeling you put into it and the totally realistic personality it has. I know it's been ages but this touched my heart.
For Glowby I wish I could turn off the anger and hatred sometimes. I just want to be sad again.

  16. Achingly beautiful. This is obviously written about someone undeserving of your love and affection.

  29. I will live but barely so...

A good friend is going through a terrible relationship where the guy is not sensitive to her love for him and keeps her hanging on for marriage. She can relate to this.

Love that is not reciprocated is a real killer!

  30. unrequited love beautifully expressed!

  31. Loved the way the poem ended....
"yes, I will live but barely so
for a long time to come or never"

  32. "walking away is easy for you
just let me know how do I do it
nonchalantly, just the way you did"

Soulful words that speak to my being - words that can rarely be a product of fiction.
And yes, sometimes you just have to write about love. The all-consuming kind.

  38. I ache for you. Romantic love is rare, in my opinion. Too sadly, many of us find that we can love but not have a life with someone. Yet the questions can plague our soul when we feel it would work...

This pieces certainly spills from your heart and, as always, is written well. I hope the new year brings a new special someone into your life. You deserve the best, Gautami.

    hugs,
    gel
