  2. Gautami,

Today, I remembered your comment about Indian bomb blasts in your response to one of my blogs after hurricane Ike. I've been thinking of you all day, and your fellow citizens. I understand so little about politcal divisions there, but I understand violence and terror, and I am so sorry for your country.

Please be assured that people around the world are watching, hoping and praying for this to end.

    Linda

  10. I wish you all the best
the strength to prevail and the wisdom to let the wounds heal, without forgetting –for only the memory can save us from repeating.

  11. Unfortunately we share this planet with misanthropic sociopaths cloaked in religious/political camouflage. Their insane conceit and disdain for others manifests itself in executing cowardly atrocities against innocents.

Personally I would forgo any mediation or attempts to cleanse their malleable vanquished souls and try to rehabilitate them...they made their decision and acted upon their fantasy. They are beyond redemption now.

Since they are above all else, cowards, it is hard to draw them out into the open to get a clear shot, so we must devise a way to lure them into the cold light of day.

It starts with the children, and educating and empowering them is the key to ending this madness. Life does NOT need to be a zero sum gain where someone needs to lose in order for another to advance.

We are all unique and hold special gifts that we should all be excited about sharing...it makes us even more fantastic.

What a sad species we are. Handicapped with an overdeveloped brain that cradles unlimited potential and yet we succumb to our primordial instincts; to take from others at any cost.
We should be way past this.

I am truly sorry that this is happening in your beautiful land.

  13. My thoughts are with all of the people of Mumbai and India right now.

I wish I had words of wisdom for you, but you cannot explain what drives people to do such terrible things. Just remember that the world does care and is praying for all of India right now.

  15. So long as you're safe, my friend. I know, you're not in Mumbai. But you were the first person I thought of.

Second came my local friends with family and roots in Mumbai.

    Crazy. Stupid. Pointless.

    Keep fighting the good fight.

  21. life lost is always painful, but life lost through willful violence is so senseless, and hard to grasp. In my tradition, when lives are lost we mark their passing with Kaddish. One of the lines from which seems so appropriate now,
Oseh shalom bim'romav hu ya'aseh shalom aleinu, "G-d Who makes peace in the heights, may G-d make peace upon us..."
May peace come soon to India and the world.
