skip it!--------3WW
All you poetry lovers do read my review of A Poetry Handbook by Mary Oliver!
You can safely skip this poem or read it at your peril. Writer's block is not conducive for good poetry. What the hell even Keats wrote trash at times!!
Feather
Misplaced
Useles
feather rhymes with leather
thinking of writing a poem
i am at the end of my tether
my judgment seem misplaced
trying to collect the words
i got those even more displaced
itching fingers type in trash
writer’s block makes me useless
maybe I should start afresh
I would never skip your poem Gautami. Miss a chance for tea? ;)
ReplyDeleteThis is perfect! The anthem for many a writer and scribe. Starting afresh. You ever wonder what it was like to write before mechanical means?

Yes very refreshing, love the last stanza.
ReplyDeleteIt's a good way to strike back at Writer's Block...
ReplyDeleteBtw, I was having some reader's block - to anybody with visual difficulties, for whatever reaason, I think the light colored type may be harder to read...
Good one! Universal and personal. Love it!
ReplyDeleteI truely enjoyed it. It was fun :)
ReplyDeleteWhen all else fails, write about writers' block. Great!
ReplyDelete--Gay
been there, done that.
ReplyDeletenice :)
Good fun, made me smile. I am glad you didn't just sit with the writer's block and fume (like I have been known to do :))and wrote right through it. Good for you!
ReplyDeleteWell, that was funny, Gautami, and I am glad I did not skip it.
ReplyDeleteEven when ya bad ya good!
ReplyDeleteOh what fun! And yes, it feels VERY familiar. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat the hell even Keats wrote trash at times!!
ReplyDeleteI have to remind myself of that at times too ;-)
A little bit of rhyming never hurt anyone :)
lol I may have skipped it (in that I didnt write a thing! lol) but I did enjoy your post! I have been having writers block for about a week now... my answer to that though is not to stop writing... I make my readers suffer through my rambling on about NOTHING significant! lol (It is my blog though! hehehe)
ReplyDeleteHave a great week!
Very clever and self-reflective!
ReplyDelete~S :)
You have crafted it beautifully...really a nice one!
ReplyDeleteI like this. So honest.
ReplyDeleteeven on pause... you write full speed ahead!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWe have all been there. I hope I can be this creative in my least inspired hours. Very nicely done.
ReplyDeleteHehe that was a witty poem I thought.
ReplyDeleteI like the poem :)
ReplyDeleteIf we had skipped it, we would have missed sharing common ground with you... We all have those frustrating moments as writers and poets, and you did something with it.
ReplyDeleteoh I like it! It definitely discribes that mental block you get when you just stare at your screen and wonder if the curser would ever just move for you...
ReplyDeleteso catchy, it keeps playing in my head, thank you.
ReplyDeleteAwww, I can promise you I've been in the same boat many times, Gautami, including this week.
ReplyDeleteI even started a post about writer's block myself.
I know that feeling well. In fact I was suffering it myself earlier this week. I'm glad I stopped by and read your lighthearted take on the subject.
ReplyDeleteSorry I am late coming around this time but, I have been busy. Enjoyed the read though. I think everyone goes through writer's block at some time with their writing. Keep up the good work.
ReplyDeleteMichelle
I always delight in your poetry...your block is human and may be the fruit for something in the future. I find that sometimes in the worst crap I write, there are some nuggets of truth I can use for later.
ReplyDeleteIt was such great fun to read your words of play!
