if only you lived forever

I relish that tea you made me
each sip filled with your love
as I watch the far away clouds,
I listen to the imaginary rumble of rains
time spent with you is always sacred
I cherish those moments again and again
it amazes me each time I visit you
your memory is as sharp as ever
your frail frame belies the strength that is you
and I know as long as you are there
I will be cossetted in your love

"when I finally get up to go home, my thoughts are,
if only our grandparents lived forever"

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This goes out for my 95 year old maternal grandmother. She might be frail but she is a force to be reckoned with. I have been thinking of her a lot and this came out those thoughts...
  1. interestingly, my first thought was to write about my grandfather, when I saw the words :):)
    But then... turned out to be something else:)
  4. That is gorgeous. I lost my last living grandparent eighteen years ago now. But this captures how I feel about all my loved ones who are aging.
  11. Absolutely precious. My maternal grandma was dear to me, too. She always will be. She passed away five years ago, at the age of 100.
  27. I've only gotten to know my grandmothers through pictures and stories handed down -- my maternal grandmother passed long before I was born and I was only four when my paternal grandmother passed away. But yet, I look in the mirror and see her eyes. Amazing. You made me think of my own grandmothers with this loving and beautifully worded tribute. Thank you. You are lucky to know her.
  31. Quite good - for something in the Modern style. But wish you had used more words like "cosseted."
    Meanwhile, Miscreant - how dare you advertise your establishment upon my own blogpost!
