waking in to dreams

melting luscious lips,
soft as rose petals
moist, glowing
sensually inviting

though asleep, she
made him fall in love.
he swayed, ready to
wake her up with a kiss.

with breath held up
she waited for his lips
to merge with hers,
so as to she could

simulate to be woken up.
a prince who loved
her to eternity and back
for what she was.

she wanted to leave
her past far behind-
she was so fed up.
witch had cursed her

a new lover each night
since she was sixteen.
for a while, she had enjoyed
pleasures of the flesh.

while those thoughts
chased in her mind-
the prince bent down
kissing her softly.

"voltage jolting through, she ceased being a single entity"

  1. This breath you describe is romantically beautiful! It matters not the past! Only the moment of now is really alive!

  3. Sensual and yearning. Maybe the life of a prostitute who dreams of that special prince who will carry her away from it all. Nice imagery too.

  5. I can relate to this. It is a long road, that search for genuine love freely given.

  7. ‘simulated to be woken up’ , in to wonderfully stimulated dreams and a beautiful reality. A great theme, beautifully, poetically communicated.

  8. your words made me lean in to hear a good story, which it is. Wonderful as a poem, I sense it could also be a great short story or even novel.

  9. I like the way the last image of "voltage jolting through" seems to sear her disparate thoughts and seals the union in the moment of the kiss. Very nice.

  10. So, she's found her prince, but will she live happily ever after?

  13. Is this the kiss of the frog with sex roles reversed?
I do hope so. I like the 'and they lived happily ever after' bit.

  15. Observable this time is how OSI writers interpreted the prompt to such a passionate rendition and your work is as passionate as the others' work!

But on a sad note, though how passionate she wish to have one, but hopefully her dark past will not ruin her passionate wishes.

I like this work of yours Gautami.

    have a nice day!
