I cradle my swollen arm

Last evening (July 21, 2009) I was hit by fast moving bike. Apart from a swollen arm, I am ok. It could have been much worse if I had fallen on the hard asphalt and hit my head or something. But only my right arm was hurt and no bones were broken. And no bleeding either. There is a bit of internal clotting and of course swelling with a perfect purple bruise. I had dislocated the same arm three years back, in July 2006. It had mended nicely and when the bike hit me and I came out of the haze, my first worry was a fracture. My guardian angel must have been working over time. Yes, it is vey painful as of now, I cradle it gently but I am very happy to alive and thriving. With painkillers, sleep has managed to snare me into its fold. Thank my stars, for that!

  1. Glad you're (mostly) unhurt. I spent time in hospital after coming off a motorbike 3 yers ago - I don't remember anything about it, or the period of 2-3 weeks after.

  9. Oh goodness...this was written so seamlessly with the prompt words, but I'm just sorry that it had to be based on a real event. Ouch...I'm so glad you're going to be OK!

  10. I'm sorry this happened to you, and glad your injuries are relatively minor. I was hit by a fast moving bike once and did fall on the hard asphalt, hitting my head. I had bad head injuries and still experience some consequences years later. I'm thankful nothing similar happened to you. ((Hugs))
