fly in!------Writers Island
fingers itch, face twitches- wide browed staresearches moronically for that fly which escaped.slowly head turns toward roof, taking in the wallstoo at a glance. the fly eludes, movingout of periphery. with a blink, eyes gatherthemselves, collecting- return to task at hand.I key in the words of this observation for posterity. fly zooms in to trouble some more.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

very nicely done...
Funny how one can be so easily distracted, indeed nearly driven mad, by one little bug. Original take, making the word a verb instead of the more obvious object.
ReplyDeleteSuch an unexpected take on the prompt! Well done, Guatami!
ReplyDeleteGuatami. what an interesting take on The Key. I love it. OH, BTW- when you are done, can you come over and swat my millers(that's moths in mid-western slang.) Can't help it as it is rooted deep in my mind. Lovely and clever poem.
