we have become still pictures in this forest of feelings
my lie has grown so pale
answers are not needed now
you will throw the files
I will light that gas with this lighter
burning all the invisible mess
"still I need a class or two to unlearn you
but in the vintage mode"
love love love the second line...fab!
ReplyDeleteI wasn't sure what to do with the Mag picture. Something might come to me yet.
ReplyDeleteThis poem makes me think of my first marriage at its end. Luckily the second one has worked out far better!
The end of a relationship is so hard to live through - hopefully, good memories will eventually be all that remain.
ReplyDeleteUnlearning? Hmmm... difficult...
ReplyDeleteI love "we have become still pictures in this forest of feelings". Wowzers!
ReplyDeleteI especially like your concluding line in quotes...
ReplyDeleteIt is a wonder that opposites stay together for so long. Perhaps admission of failure is worse than denial. Unlearning is something that can't be learned only endured. What a contemplative piece this is.
ReplyDeleteI really like this one! Well said.
ReplyDeleteStill pictures in this forest of feelings... Brilliant!!

The last line really resonates with me ..."unlearn you but in the vintage mode".

A lot of wrongs and hiccups are rarely seen but are felt strongly by those at the receiving end! Truly said Gautami!

I can relate to this piece - got some of the hubris knocked out of me lately. Blesses I guess.
ReplyDeleteGreat...unlearn difficult, but we can change. :) Love it!
ReplyDeleteI love your ending...unlearning is so difficult, when emotions are tied inside! Well done
ReplyDeleteWhat a cracking, finishing quote!
ReplyDeleteI've missed your clever, insightful and beautiful writing. Glad I read this one, very soulful.
ReplyDeleteHope you're doing well.
I like that last line. Would that it were so easy, eh?
