opposites

hidden by the fog
I walked blindly
chasing the road as if in a blind alley
sounds of chilly wind chased me
silence of my chilled heart propelled me
I stumbled in the cobbled path
fell down on my knees,
compelled to kiss the frosted earth

when I reached home
I didn't see the light at first
but seeing you sleeping so peacefully
I jumped on our bed
kissed the roof with glee
cool surface drove away my guilt
innocence of your love merged into me

"when you wake up
I will make up
until then I am going to figure out
how to stand upside down"

  1. Love these lines...I jumped on our bed
    kissed the roof with glee
cool surface drove away my guilt
innocence of your love merged into me....I can feel the anticipation and the love....

  2. I happened to visit Poets United today. Don't have time to respond to the prompt. But I think you did a wonderful job. I love this poem, and how did you ever find a picture to match so well?

You use lovely words to create clear imagery.

  6. Nice poem. My favorite phrase is "chasing the road." I think there's another prompt in that.

  8. I like the contrast between kissing the ground and kissing the ceiling, between the chill of wandering alone and the warmth of home.
