locked in the closet

I pondered over the decree
for the angel to bring gold tidings
shepherds watched over that silence
I endured it in joyless peace
my heart was like a manger
I was afraid to let it go
but in my haste
I locked it in the closet
what of it, one might ask?
festive days,
do those help in renewal?
I say, no way.
those come and go

  2. There is so much to read in this about the commercialism of the season and of your spurning that message and celebrating the truth all the year round. Quite brilliant almost subversive!

  8. There is so much emptiness left over unless we try to tap into what's behind the celebration. For each of us, no doubt, that may be something different. Nice reflection, Guatami.

  9. Well, this wasn't really about the festive season but if the reader interprets it that way, who am I to complain?
