those expressions on their thin faces
joyous now but harrowing a while back
it is so rare to see a newborn in their midst
it hit their marrows hard
no one ever made a guess
they would see such a day
now that they saw it
they want the grubs either in a soil
or in their heart deeply embedded forever
let me borrow the right sentiment
so that I can march towards them
and take an oath for their safety
yes, they will resist interference
but I will make sure that the resistant is liquid
where I will fry munchies for the grand party
I love it, you have created such an amazing atmosphere with your words =)
ReplyDeleteoh what a party- fried munchies...dare I ask what is being fried??
ReplyDeleteHave a great week!
I'll take some of those friend munchies...
ReplyDeleteYour opening line is great...It grabbed me and threw me into the party. I'm not so sure I will eat any of those fried munchies.
ReplyDeleteParty on! I'll bring a bottle!
ReplyDeleteOh! This has such an ominous feel ... a party I will skip, thank you very much!
ReplyDeleteA party of thin-faced partiers.....yes, fried munchies will do the trick.
ReplyDeleteNothing makes me happier at a party than fried munchies, indeed! This lovely, Gautami.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely an ominous feel. Reminds me of the dried meal-worms I saw for sale at the store yesterday

ReplyDeleteFried munchies sound so menacing...
ReplyDeleteSounds like the kind of tea party I'd like to go to! tasty write..
ReplyDeleteSounds like the tired convention of one of those entrenched political parties! (Pun intended)

ReplyDeleteha. the mood of the party def changes over time...i like the taking of the liquid and making it useful in the end...
ReplyDeleteMakes me want to know a bit more about just who is partying. The image tells a story of its own.
