Staple Diets
those tiny bent pins
await their turn for
binding papers,
little realising,
they are reponsible
for the tiny holes,
which pierces
the cellulose soul.
Stapler with metallic heart
clawing the pins!!
Narcissistic misery
inky music accords
honour to my thoughts,
consisting of
narcissistic misery
with hardly any words.
chronicle of catastrophe
mingles with the blood of
my prosody.

Chalk Chronicles......Sunday Scibblings
Friday….
Read about the Sunday scribbling writing prompt. To chronicle. Thinking about it.
Saturday....
Still no idea. Mind is closed up.
Sunday morning....
Still blank. Staring at the screen. Something forms.
One day in the life of a chalk…
After the assembly
I can hear her footsteps.
In anticipation
I await for her to
pick me up.
my friends get picked.
I watch her fingers moving
with fast pace
on the blackboard.
explaining there;
depicting formulae
of sums unknown
to me or them.
but how! Feeling
a slimy hand crushing
me to splinters,
powdered to dust.

Why I love poetry.....poetry thursday
************************************
Why I love Poetry
This is both and easy or a difficult question to answer. I have always loved poetry as far as I can remember. Before I only read it but now I attempt at writing it. I started with the classic poets which gave me so much pleasure. I could only be in awe of the structured poetry. I have written a few on those lines but I like the freedom of writing unstructured poetry or more liberally known as free verse. I pen down my experiences or just go out into that fantasy land which gives me so much space. Poetry takes me to the realms which can’t be explained in words. One can pack in so much meaning in so few words. Images, metaphors, similes make it very interesting. Poignancy of thoughts and feelings can only be brought out in the form of poetry. By my poetry I have discovered the inherent me.

Saluting the poetic words....an experiment...
words
stir souls,
awakening heart,
striking mind as flaming darts,
assuring us dreaming never dies.
pen
progresses,
lustrously so,
with expressions
free spirited on paper,
music
playing
rhythmatically
lyrics on the back
jumping within my thoughts
world
born anew,
vision of poets'
sparkle in hands,
imaginings ascending to sky.
Poetry-
salute it as
the sun in the night,
fetching with it only light;
illuminating the lane it walks.
..........................................................................................................................Consider this as a poetry thurday prompt.
Five unknown aspects about me
I was tagged by Russell Ragsdale for this. Without getting into long discussions about it, here goes my list:
1). I like to knit. It is the biggest stress buster for me. Not even my closest friends are aware of this fact. All my knitting I pass them off as done by my mom.
2). I like to walk barefoot at home in summers. The coolness and the solidity of the floor soothes me.
3). My middle name is Sujata. I was named after the untouchable disciple of Siddhartha Gautam who was named Sujata.
4). I love to fly kites. Those give me a feeling of soaring and merging into the never ending sky.
5). Time permiting I can sleep for days and if the need arises I can go without sleep also for days.
There are many other facts but I would rather keep those to myself..:D
I tag dsnake1, lotus reads, whitesnake, margie and sage. I look forward to your inputs if you do play it.

The Reality Of Fantasy---Sunday Scribblings
...............................................................
The Reality of Fantasy
winter rain plummets
akin to view from a comic strip,
end to end,
blurred highlights
from a solitary lantern
in the corner
feeds into fluidity
of the world.
I merge into darkness,
searching for light
scattered into unknown;
lexis upturned
within carton of
frivolity.
if vocalizations were
to be reproduced
would you
or I want it
rephrased?

Kaleidoscopic Dance....Poetry Thursday
hangovers crave the sleepy state
to get up on their own good pace
scouring paths of escape
wrenching the guts
twisting through the mind.
graphic uncertainties,
nothing to work upon
rather kaleidoscopic dance
of dragged images, muddled,
ready to be swilled out.
One line taken is "scouring paths of escape" from imitation of life: The Big Come Down by Jemima von Schindelberg. Check out for more reads and the rules here at Poetry Thursday.

Stilling time
within the ruined castle
behind the colossal pillars
silhouettes on the walls
come alive in the middle
of a dark moonless night.
misted glass twist the mind
with whirlwind of thoughts
making one feel palpable
time lurks in its confines,
escape route closing forever.
I wrote it as a writing exercise for two word challenge..Jan 15, 2007 yesterday.

A meme with letter "P"
Actually I was given "Q" but lotus was kind enough to change it to "P." She couldn't risk being killed with my bare hands…:D
So here I have to write about ten things I love which start with letter P. I might have missed out on a few others. These are in no particular order.
Panther: For its majestic stance and royal looks.
Pink Floyd: I grew up listening to that group. My love for it continues
Pyramids: Mostly for mathematical reasons. And of course the Egyptian ones.
Purse: why not? It contains my credit cards and my money and a book or two.
Purple: this is a rich colour which some how soothes me. Check out my haiga “Purple Haze.”
Puppets: I used to organize puppet shows at one time. Nothing like a puppet show which brings smile on child’s face.
Prosody: the study of rhymes, rhythms and construction of poetry. Need you ask why? Prose, poetry, poets all come into this.
Photographs: Especially the old ones. They take me back on time.
Pastries: I can’t resist those. I simply love the black forest one. Bad for my body but great for my taste buds.
Peppers: Great for the immunity system. They have the capability to numb my brain for a short while.
If anyone wants a letter, just buzz me....

Birthing pangs?
it tried to trudge along
each of us hollered, cursing
the irresponsible father
birthing problems gone
or the is it still a false alarm?
fit, strong and healthy
is the baby finally born?
Or is it the classic case
of loudly crying wolf?
after google took it over
bloggers has gone bonkers!
Now that it has settled down
I better go visit you all!!
....................................................................................
I know it is not upto it. But it is what I could manage instantly in three minutes! Bloggers seems to be fine today but for how long? Till the next baby is born?

Misted
sticking to the glass,
reminds of my memories;
embedded inside the walls
of my mind
but only for a moment.
droplets trickle down
slowly sliding.
reminiscences remain
ingrained and rooted.
water cleanses away dirt
leaving the surface clean.
thoughts are jammed forever
troubling me, so painful
that I am almost numb.

Diabolical
images of bare bones
talks of missing limbs,
with no trace of flesh;
only the mere skeletons
not a drop of blood.
just broken pieces,
the sight of these
day after day,
makes me throw up
i go insane thinking-
how can anyone be
so diabolical
to molest, maim
finally kill
cutting to pieces,
throwing in the drain
behind the house.
is it a devil or a demon
in the guise of a human?
......................................................
Raw and bleeding, not edited.
This is a true account. 38 children in the age group of 3 to 20 have gone missing since past three years. Most from very poor families. The police did not file any reports despite repeated pleas by the parents. Now 23 skeletons have been discovered in a drain behind a house in Noida, a place near Delhi. Check here: Nithari killings. The children were sexually assaulted before being killed. Organ trade is not ruled out either. The person accused couldn't have done it without the connivance of the police and higher ups. No punishment is severe enough for the involved persons. Most of us have just gone numb seeing the images. I can't even fathom what is happening.

New Year Day...whew!
We are so dependent on these stupid machines!!
